The town was eligible to receive a portion of a $2.5 million federal grant for all Connecticut law enforcement agencies involved in responding to the Newtown shooting. Instead, New Canaan will reallocate the $7,623 to training personnel in emergency response to violent offenders, ctpost.com said.
