Michael M. Savage, 39, turned himself in to police on Friday, Dec. 13, and was charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle, police told the Advertiser.
New Canaan police took nearly two years to charge Savage in the incident because "a good deal of information must be gathered on the vehicle itself," according to the New Canaan Advertiser report.
Michael Savage was driving a 2009 Maserati Quattroporte on Ponus Ridge near Lakewind Road when it crashed at about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 22, 2011, according to police. James Jackson Savage, of Seattle, died at the scene of the one-car crash, police said.
Michael Savage fled the scene of the crash and was located the next morning, about eight hours after the wreck, at Stamford Hospital, according to police.
Michael Savage is due in court date on Dec. 23 in Norwalk, according to the Advertiser report. Read the full story here.
