NEW CANAAN, Conn. The fatal hit-and-run case involving New Canaan resident Kate Regan will return to Norwalk Superior Court in August.
Regans case was continued once again Thursday. Regan is now slated to return to Norwalk court on Aug. 2, according to the court clerks office. Her case remains on the trial list, although no date has been set.
Regan, a resident of Michigan Road, is charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and evading responsibility resulting in physical injury or death.
She was driving a 2008 Infiniti QX56 when she struck Krishna S. Jayaraman, 82 while he was at the mailbox outside his home on Oenoke Ridge Road on Aug. 18, 2010, New Canaan police said. Jayaraman died from his injuries at Norwalk Hospital. Police arrested Regan on Nov. 3, 2010, after an investigation. Investigators from the State Police Major Crime Unit and forensic technicians were called in to work on the probe.
Regan and her husband, Michael, are also facing a civil lawsuit from Jayaramans family in Stamford Superior Court.
