New Canaan Cops Charge Florida Man For Selling Door to Door Without Permit

Lesley Staffon Scales, 29, of Gainesville Fl., was picked up by police after they responded to a complaint of a man selling magazines door to door without a permit Wednesday evening. Police went to Nubel Avenue around 7:30 p.m. after a complaint. Police said Scales admitted he didn't have a permit. When police checked into the man they discovered Wilton and Norwalk had also issued him infractions for similar offenses in those communities. Police fount out there were warrants for him failing to attend court for those infractions.

Police issued an Scales an infraction for soliciting without a permit and charged him with two counts of failure to respond to an infraction summons.

He posted $500 bond and is scheduled to make his first appearance in state Superior Court in Norwalk on July 6.
