Man Faces Disorderly Conduct Charge In Dispute At New Canaan Residence

Police intervention was required in New Canaan on Tuesday, July 10 night to break up a domestic dispute involving an elderly resident.

Shortly before 7 p.m., officers from the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to an East Avenue home following reports of a dispute involving two occupants of the residence.

The investigation into the incident led to the arrest of New Canaan resident Jed Runyon Stewart, 42, who was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and assault on an elderly victim, both misdemeanors.

After being processed, Stewart was released and is due in court on Wednesday afternoon to answer the charges.
