NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 20-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday night after officers found pot in his car during a traffic stop in New Canaan, police said.
Jack James Portu, of 10 The Ave., was pulled over at 8:55 p.m. on Old Stamford Road after an officer saw that his southbound vehicle had a defective marker light, police said.
After pulling over the car, the officer saw in plain sight a glass jar in the center console containing marijuana, police said.
Portu was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell/dispense.
He was released after posting $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 31.
