Fake $100 Bills Used At New Canaan Dunkin' Donuts

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Police are looking for two suspects that used counterfeit $100 bills at the Dunkin Donuts in New Canaan, Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said.

The first incident took place on April 5 when a white male passed a fake bill, she said. No other description of the transaction or suspect was given, she said.

The second incident happened on April 6 when a thin, white male in his mid-20’s to 30s and with dark hair did the same thing, Ogrinc said. The suspect used the $100 bill to make a $8.67 purchase, she said.

The doughnut shop was notified of the counterfeit bills by Fairfield County Bank after depositing both, Ogrinc said.
