“We're always looking for ways to help families stay safe and protect their home and lifestyle. In areas without a traditional fire hydrant, a dry hydrant can provide firefighters with an uninterrupted and steady flow of water, which is essential to controlling fires,” Jeanne Zimmer, premier account specialist at ACE Private Risk Services, said in a press release.
“Each dry hydrant can benefit up to around six homes, making them safer and also reducing the cost of insurance,” Tim Brown, president of Brown Thayer Shedd, said in the release. “Since 2009, Brown Thayer Shedd has helped fund four other dry hydrant installations, and we’re very pleased to partner with ACE on this one.”
Dry hydrant’s offer cost-effective and rapid access to water for areas without fire hydrants, the release. Installation of a dry hydrant and connection to natural water sources eliminates the dangers of long-distance water shuttle operations, the release said.
