NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 19-year-old New Canaan man was arrested at the Talmadge Hill train station after he was found in a car with a woman who has a protective order against him, police said.

The incident began at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, when a witness told Darien police that a "female was yelling for help inside a vehicle" near Talmadge Hill Road, police said.

The complaint was referred to New Canaan police because the vehicle was in New Canaan, police said.

Officers found the vehicle in the upper parking lot and talked to James Patrick Fahey, 19, of Hillcrest Road, and a female, who was not in “immediate distress,” police said.

Through a computer check, officers determined that there is a protective order in place that prohibits contact between Fahey and the female, police said.

Fahey was charged with violation of a protective order and released on $20,000 bond for a Tuesday court appearance.

This was Fahey's third arrest in the past year in connection with a domestic incident, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

In April, Fahey was charged with unlawful restraint, harassment and disorderly conduct, and in December, he was arrested on charges of assault and disorderly conduct, the Advertiser said.
