The fire started under the hood of the vehicle being tested in the garage and quickly spread to the insulation, a statement from the New Canaan Fire Company said. The blaze was put out immediately, and no injuries were reported, the statement said.
The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. Monday, and smoke was seen coming from the garage when firefighters arrived, the release said.
Chief Jack Hennessy was in command on the scene. The cause of the fire was still under investigation by the town’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
