A woman reported that 18 pieces of assorted jewelry, including rings, earrings and necklaces, were missing from her Avalon Drive East home on June 17, Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said. Each piece of the jewelry was valued at about $10,000, however, there was a three-stone diamond ring with a white gold band worth an estimated $50,000, the sergeant said.
The victim believes they were taken sometime between June 2 and June 10, Ogrinc said. She thought they may have been somewhere else and reported the items missing to police only after she was sure they were not there, the sergeant said.
There was no sign of forced entry to the home, and investigators were looking to see who may have had access to the home during those dates, Ogrinc said.
