Patricia Ann Pirozzi, 85, Of Franklin Lakes

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Patricia Ann Pirozzi, of Franklin Lakes, died Nov. 29. She was 85.

Born in 1931, in West Hazelton, she lived in Clifton before moving to Franklin Lakes in 1961. After graduating from Kings County Nursing School, she worked as an OB/GYN nurse at the hospital in Brooklyn. As an active parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament, she spent countless hours fundraising and working with the Little Sisters of the Poor. She sat as a chairwoman for the Women’s Auxiliary of the Passaic County Medical Board and as the chairwoman of the of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary in Paterson, where she organized a number of fundraisers, beef steaks and auctions.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Michael James. 

She is survived by her children, Dr. Patrick (Rosemarie) Pirozzi, Maria Pirozzi, Michael (Jenny) Pirozzi, Mark Pirozzi (Diane Morrell), Phillip (Diane) Pirozzi, Margaret (Nick) Matro, Paula Pirozzi, Mathew (Carole) Pirozzi and Peter (Jolie) Pirozzi; and siblings, Joseph O’Donnell, Matilda ‘Bobbie’ Gallagher and Nancy Sexton; grandchildren, Dr. Kelly and Dr. Jeff McAlister, Michael James III, Angela, Patrick, Patricia, Elizabeth, Gabrielle, Danielle, Carly, Brianna, Deirdre and Brooke; and a great-grandchild, Reilly Rose.

The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory tothe  Little Sisters of the Poor, 140 Shepherd Lane, Totowa, NJ 07512.
