Michael Angelastro, 83, Of New Canaan, Retired Police Captain

NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Michael Angelastro, a New Canaan resident for over 60 years, died Saturday, Oct. 12. He was 83.

Angelastro was born June 14, 1930, in the Bronx, N.Y., son of Cosmo and Theresa Angelastro. He worked as a police officer for over 30 years with the New Canaan Police Department and retired as police captain. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Angelastro is survived by his wife, Anita Mincello Angelastro; sons, Robert of New Canaan and Richard of Norwalk; daughter, Cara Lee DeLuca (Ronald) of Norwalk; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and son, Michael.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at St Aloysius Church, Cherry St., New Canaan, with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
