NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Gary Joseph Stass, a New Canaan resident for over 36 years, formerly of New York City, died Tuesday, June 18. He was 73.
Stass was born July 15, 1939, in Jersey City, N.J., son of Joseph S. and Doris Capp Stass. He attended The Pingry School in Martinsville, N.J. and graduated from Dartmouth College, where he received a BS in History. He made a career in institutional sales. He finished his Wall Street career at S.G. Warburg Securities in New York City.
Stass is survived by his wife, Nancy Tolman Stass; daughter, Kyle Rattigan (Jay) of Hoboken, N.J.; two grandchildren; and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Talmadge Hill Community Church, 870 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, Darien. A private interment was held in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
