NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Carol B. Kapp, a longtime resident of New Canaan, died July 2. She was 82.
Kapp was the daughter of Hosea Cushman Ballou and Edna Caukins Ballou of Bronxville, N.Y.
She was educated at Bronxville and St. Mary’s School in Peekskill, N.Y., where she graduated in 1949. She graduated from Merchant & Bankers School (a secretarial school) in New York City and worked for an architect’s office before taking a job at Nestle's in White Plains, N.Y. She volunteered at Norwalk Hospital, Red Cross, Person to Person, Waveny Care Center and the New Canaan Library.
Kapp is survived by her sons, William K. Kapp Jr. (Patricia I.) of Ridgefield and James B. Kapp of New Canaan; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, William K. Kapp.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hoyt Funeral Home of New Canaan.
