Woman Charged With Stealing Dresses in New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A Norwalk woman accused of stealing more than $800 in clothing from an Elm Street store was arrested Sunday by New Canaan Police.

Victoria G. Mallozzi, 23, of Comstock Hill Road, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and arrested at her home. Police said an employee at Togs clothing store saw a woman go into a changing room with several clothing items and her purse open. When the woman exited, the purse was closed. Police said the store employee saw three empty hangers atop a pile of clothing and saw the woman get into a black Audi and leave. The store employee was able to get a license plate. Police said Mallozzi confessed to taking three items: dresses valued at $350 and $236 and a black lace shirt valued at $250. Mallozzi is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 25.  

In other police news:

? Sarah L. Zech, 19, of Ridgefileld Road, Wilton, was charged with sixth-degree larceny Wednesday. Police said Zech, a volunteer at New Canaan Library, stole $38 along with credit cards and gift cards from purses belonging to two library employees. Police said Library Director Alice Knapp called to report the thefts. Zech was released on a promise to appear on Jan. 24 in Norwalk Superior Court.  

? Police are investigating the theft of a log-splitting machine from a home on Summer Street. Police said a 63-year-old man complained on Jan. 9 that someone had taken his Troy-Bilt log splitter. Police said a black Dodge pickup backed into the man’s driveway sometime after 2 p.m. and the homeowner originally did not think much of it. The son of the complainant saw a white or Hispanic male wearing a blue hoodie get into the truck. The log splitter is valued at $1,400.

? Zoran Konstantinovic, 51, and his wife Gabriela Konstantinovic, 48, were charged with disorderly conduct following an argument last Wednesday at their home on Smith Ridge Lane. Police said they received a phone call from Gabriela at about 3:40 a.m. Police said an argument between the couple escalated. Zoran is accused of pushing his wife while she attempted to make a 911 call, while Gabriela was charged with breaking a dish and slapping her husband in the face. Both appeared Thursday in Norwalk Superior Court.
