Nearly three months after an 82-year-old Oenoke Ridge man was fatally injured by a hit-and-run driver, police have arrested a New Canaan woman.
Kate H. Regan, 32, of 383 Michigan Road was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and evading responsibility resulting in physical injury or death.
Regan was arrested on a warrant following a police investigation into the Aug. 18 incident. Officers found Jayaraman S. Krishna, 82, lying on the side of Oenoke Ridge suffering from serious injuries. He died less than two hours later at Norwalk Hospital.
Police previously said the driver was a 32-year-old New Canaan woman, but they declined to identify her because the investigation was ongoing. Police determined that a 2008 Infiniti QX56 driven by a New Canaan woman struck the man. Investigators from the State Police Major Crime Unit and forensic technicians were called in. Police Chief Ed Nadriczny had asked the State Police to expedite the investigation.
Regan turned herself in and was released on $10,000 bond Wednesday. She is scheduled to appear Nov. 17 in Norwalk Superior Court.
