Monday, May 21

New Canaan Inland Wetlands Commission meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Inland Wetlands Commission will have its regular meeting. Among the items are a continuation of the housing application for 41 and 47 Jelliff Mill Road. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Board of Education meeting: 7:30 p.m. The Board of Education will have its regular meeting at New Canaan High School’s Wagner Room. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

Tuesday, May 22

New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission special meeting: 6 p.m. The Planning and Zoning Commission will have a special meeting to continue deliberations on the applications associated with the proposed housing development at 41 and 47 Jelliff Mill Road. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission meeting: 7 p.m. The New Canaan Planning and Zoning Commission will have its regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda are discussion and consideration of a request by the New Canaan YMCA to amend zoning regulations to allow for changes in building dimensions. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St.

Wednesday, May 23

New Canaan Library Young Critics Book Discussion: 6:30 p.m. The Young Critics will discuss "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeline L'Engle to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its publication. Fourth- through sixth-graders are invited to join Librarian Cathy Townsend to discuss the puzzles and parables presented.  A pizza dinner will be provided. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

New Canaan High School Senior Art Show reception: 6:30 p.m. Seniors at New Canaan High School will display their artwork for the public. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.

New Canaan High School Spring Choral Concert:  7:30 p.m. The NCHS Choir and Madrigals will host their annual spring concert. It will feature Faure's "Requiem" and Haydn's "Te Deum." The concert is free. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.

Thursday, May 24

New Canaan Board of Selectmen special meeting: 9 a.m. The Board of Selectmen will have a special meeting in place of its regular meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday. New Canaan Town Hall, 77 Main St. 

Read To Cooper at New Canaan Library: 4 p.m.  Cooper, a registered therapy dog, will be at the library with his handler, Lydee Hummel. Four lucky kids will each have a 15 minute appointment to meet Cooper and read him a story. This program is for children in grades 1 through 3. To reserve a spot, call (203) 594-5002. Friday, May 25

New Canaan High School Veterans’ Assembly: 9 a.m. New Canaan High School pays tribute to U.S. military veterans with its annual assembly. The service will feature the landing of a Marine CH-53 helicopter on the soccer fields next to the high school about 10 a.m. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.
