Sweater Stolen From Elm St. Shop

A cashmere sweater valued at $425 was stolen from the Ralph Lauren store at 51 Elm St. Sunday and police said the man who did it was caught on the store security camera. Two employees reported that a man had come into the store at around 3:10 p.m., asked a few questions about an item and left without buying anything. The employees noticed that one of three sweaters stacked in a pile was missing after the man left. Surveillance equipment showed the man standing by the sweaters with his back to the camera and a shopping bag in his hand, police said. Though the video did not show him taking the sweater it did show only two sweaters in the pile after the man left. Police said the suspect is a black male with a shaved head. He was wearing a white polo shirt with a blue #3 patch on the sleeve.
