Scarf, Wallets Taken From Store Workers

A $6,000 scarf and a pair of women's wallets were reported stolen last Friday from employees at downtown stores. Police said someone stole the $6,000 ivory scarf from an employee storage area at L'Armoire Boutique at 102 Park St. last Friday.

On the same day, a red Ralph Lauren wallet with $2,500 in cash in it and a brown Trussard wallet with $50 in it were taken from an employee area at Potpourri By Design at 103 Elm St.

Also from the police blotter:

• Mark D. Hitt, 56, of Putnam Valley, N.Y., was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving at an unreasonable speed Oct. 19 after being stopped near Silvermine Road and Pastures Lane by an officer using a radar gun. During the stop, police detected alcohol on Hitt's breath. Hitt posted $250 bond and will appear Nov. 4 in Norwalk Superior Court.

• A 53-year-old woman from Benedict Hill Road reported Friday that someone spent $156 from a $500 gift card she received last year, police said. Three separate charges were made in New York City last October although the victim still has the card.

• A 34-year-old Richmond Hill Road man was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and second-degree threatening after the man and his wife, 33, were involved in a domestic dispute at their home, police said. Police said the man came home early Saturday and got into an argument with his wife. Police said the woman had scratches on her face and arm. The man left home before officers arrived. He was found and arrested on Marvin Ridge Road at about 4:30 a.m. He was held on $5,000 bond and appeared Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.

• Police were investigating a pair of larcenies from vehicles. One occurred on Four Winds Lane where a couple believes their unlocked vehicle was entered between Saturday and early Sunday. A small Samsonite bag, debit cards, a gold purse, a red wallet, three or four checkbooks and a sunglass case were missing, police said. The second was reported at 9:11 a.m. Sunday at Ponus Ridge Road. The owner parked her car in a driveway the night before and Sunday discovered she was missing a MacBook Pro computer, RayBan sunglasses, a Cole Haan wallet and an iPod nano.

• Herman A. Schaefer, 52, of Linden Tree Road, Wilton, was charged with operating under the influence and possession of marijuana after he was observed smoking something from a pipe at 5:47 p.m. Sunday by a Rosebrook Road resident, police said. Officers found two marijuana buds, a half-full container of beer and unopened bottles of beer. Schaefer posted $250 bond and was scheduled to appear Nov. 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.

• Matthew Supple, 36, of Eleanor Road, Norwalk, was charged Sunday with third-degree burglary and disorderly conduct after police said he entered the shed near a two-family home on Parade Hill Road. Police said Supple had visited the home, honked his horn and was waiting to see a woman. Supple and the woman, who no longer lives there, had a previous relationship, police said. Supple was issued a $2,500 bond and was arraigned Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.
