? Former baseball player and manager Bobby Valentine joined with more than 1,500 people from the tri-state area for the MMRF Race for Research: Tri-State 5K Walk/Run at New Canaan High School. The event raised $335,000 for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

? New Canaan became New Canine with the annual Dog Days event. People and their dogs got to participate in several events like “Smoochin With Your Pooch,” “Wag Away Dog Contest,” and a look-a-like contest.

? Starbucks fans were disappointed Monday to find out the coffee shop has been closed for renovations. It is scheduled to reopen next week.

? A New Canaan woman, Jane Delano, was charged after a dispute at her condo complex. The incident came a couple of weeks after she was arrested in two separate disputes.

? New Canaan’s own Tom Butterworth is taking to the stage in this year’s “Shakespeare on the Sound” production of “As You Like It.” He is playing Adam, a servant, and Corin, a shepherd.
