As costumed trick-or-treaters prepare to take to the streets on a candy quest on Halloween, town police are asking motorists to keep their eyes out for children Sunday.
Police are asking drivers who travel on Halloween to slow down and keep a watch out for kids as they visit homes for the haunted holiday. "A lot of kids will be out on the roads," Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said. "Please be careful."
Ogrinc also asked parents to make sure their children can be seen by wearing bright and visible costumes, using reflective material or carrying flashlights.
Police will have extra officers on the roads Sunday in anticipation of heavy foot traffic and potential Halloween mischief.
