Police were investigating a possible connection among three burglaries that occurred over the weekend. The burglaries were reported Saturday and Sunday. The first was reported at 10:22 p.m. Saturday on Ramhorne Road. Someone broke a window screen in the front of the home, entered and took an unknown amount of jewelry from the master bedroom, police said.
A second burglary was reported just after 11:15 p.m. Saturday on Smithridge Road, where someone entered a rear door and took jewelry from a master bedroom.
The third was reported Sunday at a home off Stonehedge Drive. Police said someone went into the home and took about $70,000 in jewelry, including a $30,000 diamond ring, a $12,000 ring and three yellow gold bracelets. Anyone with information is asked to call New Canaan Police.

Police were investigating the theft of a painting of a table with two chairs that was taken from its display at the New Canaan Library at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Electronics and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle near Waveny Park. Police said someone entered a car parked near Lapham Road at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday and took a $350 Blackberry cell phone, a $400 iPhone, a ladies Swiss Army watch and a wallet containing several credit cards and $300 in cash.
Police were investigating a possible case of identity theft in which someone last Friday in another state fraudulently used the identity of a Carter Street man to steal nearly $22,000 from his bank account. Police said the money was taken in three bank withdrawals.
Kenneth J. Pinder, 54, of Millport Ave., was charged last Friday with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. Police said Pinder yelled at a 48-year-old man, threatened him and threw items around a house during a dispute before 6:30 a.m.
Nicole M. West, 23, of Haddon St., Bridgeport, was charged last Thursday with second-degree failure to appear. Police said West was facing four motor-vehicle charges stemming from a March 11 incident and failed to appear in court Aug. 8. West was released on $3,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Sept. 28 in Norwalk Superior Court.
Police were investigating the possible theft of duvet bed covers from a Richmond Hill Road home last Tuesday. Police said a woman left the covers in a bag in a detached garage.
