Police Probe Credit Card Fraud

A New Canaan woman wonders how she could rack up $700 in charges on a credit card in one morning -- without even touching it. Police are investigating a case of fraud reported Friday. The 39-year-old Silver Ridge Road resident got a call from her credit card company about suspicious activity on her account. An unknown person charged purchases on the 16th and the morning of the 20th, totaling $700 on the second day. The resident said she had not used her card those days. Police are investigating, and are trying to track possible deliveries ordered on the account.
