NEW CANAAN, Conn. — In case you haven’t been checking in regularly with The New Canaan Daily Voice, here is a look at what you may have missed.

? On Monday afternoon, two bombs went off during the Boston Marathon killing three and injuring about 175 people. All eight runners from New Canaan were able to finish the race.

? One of the three New Canaan police officers who were hospitalized after going into a burning home last week was unable to return to work by Monday.

? Schools officials Joseph Meehan announced his retirement from the district Tuesday. He most recently served New Canaan Public Schools as the director of finance and operations.

? On Tuesday, it was announced that New Canaan’s Claire Kelly will be directing “As You Like It” for Greenwich’s Shakespeare on the Sound this summer.

? New Canaan was recently named a prime spot to visit for fans of the television show “Mad Men.”

? First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III and Selectman Nick Williams announced their runs for re-election this November.

? Friday morning, it was reported that law enforcement had killed one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing during a firefight. Police locked down much of the Boston area to search for the second suspect. On Friday, law enforcement believed a third suspect may have gotten on a train into Connecticut, stalling Metro-North trains and creating lengthy delays.
