NEW CANAAN, Conn. Peter Cameron Beutel, 56, an energy analyst and resident of New Canaan, died March 8 at Norwalk Hospital. Beutel was born July 22, 1955, the son of Gail Wilder Beutel and William C. Beutel. He was 56.
Beutel attended the Hackley School in Tarrytown, N.Y., the Highgate School in London and Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Mass. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1977. He was the founder of Cameron Hanover, energy research and risk management firm.
In addition to his mother, Peter is survived by three sisters, Robin Gamble and her husband Scot of Madison, Wis., Colby Beutel and her husband Michael Burns of Chicago, and Heather Fortinberry of Ojai, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St Pauls Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Ave., Darien. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Connecticut 359 Spring Hill Road, Monroe, CT 06468. The Hoyt Funeral Home and Cremation Service of New Canaan is handling arrangements.
