New Canaan to Hire Corbet's Firm for Consulting

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Town officials will get a little help from a consulting firm led by former Board of Finance member Kathleen Corbet as they prepare the 2012-13 fiscal budget.

The Board of Selectmen will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday to approve a contract with Cross Ridge Capital/Consulting for a minimum of 250 hours and maximum of 300 hours of consulting services. In November, Corbet was defeated in the election for New Canaan treasurer by longtime incumbent V. Donald Hersam Jr.

According to the agenda, Cross Ridge will receive an hourly rate of $150. The contract would cost the town $37,500 at the minumum number of billable hours.

Cross Ridge’s appointment comes a week after Finance Director Gary Conrad announced he was leaving to take a similar position in Westport.
