New Canaan police were investigating the theft of $15,000 in silverware and dining ware from a Weeburn Drive home.
Police said a female resident reported the theft last Tuesday. Police said someone stole a sterling silver chest containing 18 Reed & Barton place settings and serving utensils. Police said the woman last saw the silverware March 15 and that people had been working at her home.

Police were investigating the unauthorized transfer of $78,400 from a Smithridge Road couples bank account. Police said the couple received a letter last Saturday from Wachovia Bank thanking them for the transfer of money from their Bank of America account. Police said the Wachovia account was opened on the West Coast.
Regina Perrigin-Olmstead, 52, of Oenoke Ridge Road, was charged last Wednesday with driving under the influence and failure to drive right. Police said they found Perrigin-Olmstead at 10:17 p.m. outside of her vehicle, which had landed in a ditch on St. John Place near Oenoke Lane. Police said they detected alcohol on her breath and noticed she had slurred speech. She also appeared to be disoriented, police said. Police said her Lexus SUV had damage to its right front fender and front bumper. Perrigin-Olmstead was released on $250 bond and was scheduled to appear Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.
Diane Ouellette, 47, and Michael G. Hermon, 55, of Smithridge Road, were each charged last Wednesday with disorderly conduct. Police said the arrests came after a verbal argument at their home escalated. There were no injuries, police said. Both were released on promises to appear and appeared last Thursday in Norwalk Superior Court.
Police were investigating the theft of cell phones from a car parked on Elm Court. Police said someone entered the vehicle in the afternoon of May 2 and took a pair of Net 10 LG phones. Police said the New Canaan woman left her car at about 5:05 p.m. and the phones were in a center console.
Hernandez E. Guerra, 34, of Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant service last Tuesday. Police said Guerra was originally arrested Nov. 15, 2003, on a marijuana possession charge and failed to appear for a Feb. 15, 2005, court date. He was held on $2,000 bond and appeared last Tuesday in Norwalk Superior Court.
