NEW CANAAN, Conn. Police from New Canaan and Wilton continued looking early Friday for a Silver Hill Hospital patient who left the hospital late Thursday afternoon.
New Canaan Police received a call at about 3:42 p.m. Thursday about a woman who left the hospital and was described as suicidal. Staff at Silver Hill reported that she was last seen walking on Valley Road toward Wilton. The missing woman is 46 years old and is believed to be a danger to herself. Police did not release the woman's name.
Police issued a notice to residents late Thursday evening in emails and robocalls of the search. Residents were warned to stay indoors, but police said the patient was not a danger to others. A state police helicopter and search dogs were called in to assist.
