New Canaan Police Investigate a Home Invasion

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Police are hunting for two men who broke into a Lambert Road home early Saturday morning and held a 60-year-old woman down on her bed while they collected jewelry and other items worth $40,000.

Police said they responded to a call at about 1:05 a.m. from a woman who said she had been tied up and robbed. Police said the woman was awakened after midnight by a man attempting to remove a bracelet from her arm. Police said the man then bound her with rope and held her down on a bed while a second man went through the home. The pair left with about $25,000 in silverware, including bowls, coffee pots and vases, and five rings worth about $3,000 apiece. The woman’s face was covered by a pillow and she was unable to see the men, police said. She was not injured and the men left quickly.

Police said they are working with other law enforcement agencies and looking into a number of leads in an effort to identify the robbers.

Anyone with information that might help the New Canaan Police should call (203) 594-3500.
