New Canaan Health Director Calls Town Prepared For Ebola

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan's health director says the town is fully prepared to deal with a case of Ebola if the need should arise, according to The New Canaan News.

Dr. David Reed has said the town is coordinating with the state to ensure the proper equipment, including protective gear, and training are on hand if a potential Ebola case is discovered in the community, the New Canaan News reported. 

Under new state protocol, authorities have the authority to quarantine individuals or groups who who are coming from regions in Africa that are dealing with the Ebola outbreak. The town's emergency medical service teams have also worked with the state to better refine protocols, the New Canaan News said.
