NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Town of New Canaan is looking to get out of the movie theater business and is considering selling the Playhouse on Elm Street, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III said last week that he favored selling the building so the infrastructure costs would not be at the taxpayers' expense, the New Canaan Advertiser said. Although no buyer has stepped forward, several businesses and people have expressed an interest, including Bow Tie Cinemas, said the New Canaan Advertiser.
