New Canaan Chamber Hosts First Downtown Flex Event

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A concert will be the first event hosted by the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce in the downtown flexible space.

Music from singer EJ Couloucoundis will be the featured attraction from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday as the chamber holds its first outdoor event at the so-called flex space on South Avenue between Morse Court and Elm Street. The event will be free and open to the public.

Couloucoundis is the winner of the 2010 National Teen Idol competition and well as the 2011 Hartford Classical Voice winner. He has performed at several chamber events previously.

The chamber plans several entertainment activities throughout the summer at the space, dubbed “The T.”  Other ideas include outdoor Zumba events and ice skating at a temporary rink, although any skating wouldn’t take place until winter.

The intersection of South and Elm streets will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.
