Metro-North Train Service Returns On New Canaan Branch

UPDATE: NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan Branch train service will resume with the 4:45 p.m. train departing Stamford making all stops New Canaan, Metro-North announced Friday afternoon.

Customers should anticipate delays of 15 to 30 minutes.

Metro-North had been running substitute bus service most of the afternoon because of track work on the branch.    

Original story: NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Metro-North is running substitute bus service along the New Canaan Branch due to track work throughout Friday afternoon.

Substitute Bus Service will be provided for the following trains:

  •  the 12:58 p.m. train departing Stamford and making all stops to New Canaan, Metro-North said. 
  • the 1:28 p.m. train departing New Canaan and making all stops to Stamford. 
  • the 1:58 p.m. train departing Stamford and making all stops to New Canaan. 
  • the 2:28 p.m. train departing New Canaan and making all stops to Stamford.
  • the 2:58 p.m. train departing Stamford and making all stops to New Canaan. 

  • the 3:26 p.m. train departing New Canaan making all stops to Stamford.

"Bus Service is being provided due to a track condition requiring attention," Metro-North said. 

Train riders should listen for announcements at the stations.
