One wheel on one car went off the tracks at Grove Street, blocking the crossing for four hours that evening, Metro-North said.
No passengers were on the train, which was heading to the yard, and no one was injured, Metro-North said. The incident caused large delays and forced substitute buses to run for the rest of that evening.
In an attempt to prevent trains from running over misaligned switches, Metro-North will install “switchrite” indicators, according to Metro-North.
