Man Charged With Lying About Father Stabbing Him

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A 60-year-old man was arrested Saturday on charges of falsely accusing his father of stabbing him and breaking into his father’s home at 192 Brushy Ridge Road, police report.

Police said they received a call at 8:49 p.m. Saturday from Sirico stating that he had been stabbed by his 89-year-old father and was bleeding and in need of assistance. Responding officers found that Sirico had argued with his father outside the father's home. Police said the father asked Sirico not to return to his home. They said Sirico forced his way into the home by breaking a window and severely cut his arm. They said Sirico did not live with his father but had been staying with him temporarily.

Sirico was charged with first-degree burglary, disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree falsely reporting an incident. He was ordered held without bond and taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. He was originally supposed to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday, but that appearance was postponed.
