New Canaan native and Major League catcher Curt Casali suffered a concussion while catching for the Tampa Bay Rays in a game Wednesday night against the Boston Red Sox. He was hit on his face mask by a foul tip twice in three pitches and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
- It was a rough time for commuters Wednesday when a three-car crash closed the northbound Merritt Parkway between Exits 34 and 37 for more than an hour during morning rush-hour.
