A house party on Park Lane last week apparently became much largerand more violentthan its host expected. At about 1 a.m. July 27, New Canaan Police responded to an anonymous call and found a young man lying in the street, with blood on his clothes and scrapes on his knees. Although he denied being in a fight, he admitted that he was at a party at a nearby home.
When police arrived at 11 Park Lane, they found "numerous youths consuming alcohol" and empty beer containers throughout the house and on the atio. The party's host, 18-year-old Peter Agustsson, told police that his parents were out of the country. He claimed he invited only five or six friends, and he tried to get the uninvited guests to leave to no avail. According to the first witness about 60 people attended.
Staff at Norwalk Hospital informed police two hours later that two young people were treated for wounds they said were because of a fight at a New Canaan house party. One had a broken nose, and another had a wound on his head that appeared to be from a broken glass bottle. The youths' parents did not want to press charges or investigate further.
Agustsson was charged with delivery of alcohol to minors. He posted $200 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 9. Police did not make any arrests because of the fight, but they are still investigating the incident.

An officer saw Walsh traveling on South Avenue sear Saxe Middle School driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone. The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana, and Walsh freely admitted when asked that he had drugs in his car, according to police. Police found five small bags of marijuana, a glass pipe, and a metal grinder in the vehicle. Walsh was released on a promise to appear in court Aug. 16.
