Police believe they have found the driver in a hit-and-run incident Friday morning and have released more information about the victim. The New Canaan police would not release the suspects name but confirmed that she was a 49-year-old woman from South Salem N.Y. driving a 2006 Audi A4 convertible.
At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, a jogger traveling on Oenoke Ridge Road saw a bicyclist lying hurt on the side of the road. The man, 82-year-old Thomas Scheuer of New Canaan, was there for an undetermined amount of time. He was wearing a helmet, but is still in Intensive Care receiving treatment for significant head, leg and internal injuries.
Police located the driver at approximately 10 p.m. Friday, and she is cooperating with the authorities. The investigation is still ongoing, and those with any information should contact the New Canaan police at (203) 594-3500.
