Glass House Invites New Canaan Residents For Free Visit

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Glass House will host its third annual Community Day on May 7 with free tour tickets available for New Canaan residents.

Community Day launches the 2014 Glass House tour season, marking its eighth year as a public historic site. Advance reservations are required and may be made through the Glass House website.

Visit theglasshouse.org/visit and use code NC2014 to secure complimentary tickets for the event.

Glass House Community Day is sponsored by Bankwell.

Also, Glass House Director Henry Urbach will give a talk at the New Canaan Library at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6. 

The talk will be on "The Glass House, Reconsidered." There will be a question-and-answer session at the conclusion of the talk, followed by a reception.

The event will take place in the New Canaan Library's Adrian Lamb Room. Admission is free and registration is required via newcanaanlibrary.org or by calling 203-594-5000. The library is at 151 Main St. 

The Glass House is also offering after school tours for budding young architects and art lovers. Those tours are for children only, ages 9 to 13 (Grades 5 to 8) from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on May 5, 12, 19 and June 2, 9, 16. Call 203-594-9884 for more information.
