NEW CANAAN, Conn. Gennaro R. Marinelli, a recent New Canaan resident and award-winning artist, died Sept. 30 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 72.
Born May 3, 1939, in Astoria, N.Y., he enjoyed a long, distinguished career in the advertising industry, working with such clients as Union Carbide and Ethan Allen.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Marinelli and her husband, John Barnes, of New Canaan; his son, Vincent Marinelli and his wife, Lori, of Northport, N.Y.; his brother, Charles Marinelli of Sonora, Calif.; and a nephew and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan.
