NEW CANAAN, Conn. Installation of sidewalks on the southern end of Main Street will cause traffic to be rerouted this week, according to the New Canaan Public Works Department.
Milling begin Monday on Main Street from Lakeview Avenue to Farm Road. Southbound traffic will be detoured westbound on Church Street.
Northbound traffic will be detoured westbound onto Elm Place. Two-way traffic will be allowed from Cherry Street to Church Street.
Preference will be given to emergency vehicles, school buses and local traffic.
Due to possible changes in the work and weather, detour plans are subject to change without prior notice. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.
