Copper Pipes, Supplies Stolen From New Canaan Site

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Police were investigating the theft of more than $2,000 worth of copper from a home construction site on North Wilton Road.

Police said someone entered the construction site overnight Friday. Three 20-foot copper pipes worth $300 each, a box of assorted copper fittings valued at $500 and a 120 8-inch by 12-inch copper flashing sheets valued at about $1,200 were reported missing. A complaint on the missing items was logged at 9:11 a.m. Friday, police said.

In other police news:

• Conor House, 19, of Colonial Road, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and driving at an unreasonable speed. Police said House was pulled over at about 8:49 a.m. after a radar check found he was driving above the 25 mph speed limit on White Oak Shad Road near the Norwalk line. Upon approaching House’s vehicle, police detected the odor of alcohol. After a field sobriety test, House was arrested. House was released on $250 bond and is scheduled to appear July 29 in Norwalk Superior Court.
