Candice Goodwin, Passionate About Needlepoint

Candice L. Goodwin, a Greenwich resident for more than 40 years, died at her home Jan. 23. Goodwin was born in New Haven to Lucille Caporale DeLucia and the late Vincent DeLucia.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Quinnipiac University and was a member of Alpha Mu Gamma and the National Collegiate Foreign Language Society. Goodwin, who had a passion for needle pointing and needlecraft arts, worked for many years at Next Station Needle, a needlepoint shop in New Canaan.

Goodwin enjoyed attending the ballet, cooking, baking, flower arranging, traveling, reading (especially Jane Austen), playing tennis and photography. She was an active member of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish, the Milbrook Club and the Delray Racquet Club.

Goodwin is survived by her husband of 42 years, Terry; daughter Heather and husband Paul; son Terence and wife Danielle; her mother, Lucille DeLucia; her brother David; and three grandchildren, an aunt and 13 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Cheryl.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 469 North St., Greenwich, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Candice L. Goodwin Scholarship Fund at Quinnipiac University, 275 Mt. Carmel Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
