Town police are investigating what caused a Stamford man to die after a bicycle accident Thursday afternoon.
Michael Bookstone, 58, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Norwalk Hospital from head injuries sustained in a Thursday afternoon accident, police said. Bookstone was found injured in the road at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday near North Wilton and Valley roads. He was not wearing a helmet. Bookstone was conscious and unresponsive while being treated.
According to police, a medical condition could have caused Bookstone to fall from his bike. Police spokeswoman Carol Ogrinc said the accident did not appear to be a hit-and-run incident and that Bookstone was prone to seizures.
