Strut Your Stuff, American Girl

If your daughter is a budding fashionista, make sure to stop by the Outback Teen Center Aug. 26 and 28. The Young Women’s League of New Canaan will hold auditions for its first-ever American Girl Fashion Show. They’re looking for girls size 6x (about 48 inches tall) and size 10 (between 54 and 56 inches) to walk the runway in their charity benefit this October.

“It’s really a great show,” YWL president Jani Salant said. “I’ve been to a few of them, and they’re a lot of fun.” The lucky girls chosen will wear clothing inspired by the American Girl line of dolls. All proceeds from the fashion show will benefit Greenwich’s Kids In Crisis, which helps children and families dealing with domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and other issues.

Auditions are from 1 to 4 p.m. The Young Women’s League will host the fashion show Oct. 23 and 24. For tickets or more information, call (203) 554-6907 or visit the YWL’s website.
