The Barn and Beyond is a juried exhibition of original work in all media. The theme of the show focuses on the historical importance of the gallery space and will celebrate the collection of barns in New Canaan, and similar structures throughout America.

Receiving days for the artworks are Oct. 5 and 6, 12 p.m. – 3 p/m. and October 7, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Entries received after the deadline will not be included in the exhibition.

According to a recent mews release from Carriage Barn Arts Center, the exhibit consists of a curated historical overview of the Carriage Barn. A “visual photographic survey of barns in New Canaan will serve as an introduction to works by a diverse group of artists. In addition to representations of barns and elements associated with these structures, sculptures relating to the barn theme, i.e. animals, will be considered.”

A maximum of five works in any media per artist will be accepted for a non-refundable fee of $20 for two pieces and $30 for up to five pieces for members of the New Canaan Society of the Arts, and $35 for two pieces and $45 for up to five pieces for non-members.

Artists’ memberships must be active through November in order to receive membership level entrance fee. If your membership has expired, please be sure to renew before the entry deadline.

All artists are welcome to join as new members. Online entries are notified of the chosen work at the Carriage Barn Arts Center website.
