Lana will go on to represent the state of Connecticut in the next round of competitions for the nationally recognized Miss Teen USA 2017 pageant.
“The pageant brought together a group of amazingly talented, smart, confident, hard-working, kind and young women from every part of Connecticut,” said Coffey. “I am bursting with pride at being named Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2017 and am excited for every step of this amazing journey and year ahead.”
Lana was also voted Miss Congeniality at the pageant.
The 2017 pageants were held in Stamford from Nov. 12 to 13 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa. The event showcased the accomplishments, talent and dedication of young women across the state of Connecticut.
The new Miss Connecticut USA was also crowned at the weekend competition. The winner was Olga Litvinenko, 26, of Greenwich. She will go on to represent the state of Connecticut in the next round of competitions for the nationally televised Miss USA pageants.
Contestants were judged in three equal categories consisting of Personal Interview; Active Wear; and Evening Gown. "The competitions shined a spotlight on some of the best, brightest and most accomplished young women throughout the state," organizers said in a press release.
Titleholders will travel throughout Connecticut making appearances and acting as ambassadors of the state at a variety of charitable events, social functions and more.
The remainder of the Top 5 included:
- Savannah Meaike, 15 from Niantic
- Alexandria Elizabeth Palmer from Middletown
- Celina Chapman, 18 from Shelton
- Taliyah McGee, 17 from West Haven
Taliyah McGee was also named Miss Photogenic.
