Congratulations to Kathleen Redman. The Meals-on-Wheels volunteer received an honorable mention from The Volunteer Service Center of Southwestern Fairfield County. Redman has been devoting her time tirelessly as a coordinator and driver for the New Canaan organization. Kathleen will be celebrated along with all of the MOW volunteers at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Coffee being held at the Carriage Barn on Thursday, May 19.
Julie Pryor of Pryority Fitness and Lisa and David Tuttle have come together to raise money for the Ghana Childrens Fund (GCF), a non-profit founded by the Tuttle Family of New Canaan to support the health, welfare and education of orphans and needy children in Ghana. Julie will host a Pryority: Ghana Making Movement, Making Change yoga session on Saturday, May 21, 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Proceeds will help the Tuttles double the size of an existing school in the African nation. All fitness levels are welcome and participants are asked to bring their own mats and blankets if possible. Carrie Corcoran Deane and Peter Deane hosted a book signing and cooking demonstration last Thursday with Terry Walters, the acclaimed author of Clean Start and Clean Food cookbooks. New Canaanites came out to watch Walters cook up a recipe from her new book Clean Start and sip smoothie samples from Catch a Healthy Habit in Fairfield. The event was held as part of the Moffly Media annual Design District Tour.
