Lisher Endorses Corbet for New Canaan Treasurer

NEW CANAAN. Conn. -- The following letter is from Jim Lisher, chairman of the New Canaan Health & Human Services Commission.

While a registered Republican, I am pleased to endorse Kathleen Corbet for town treasurer. While the treasurer’s post has been mostly ceremonial for many years, I agree that a more active role is now required to work with the town administration.

Kathleen Corbet has the depth of national and town financial and strategic experience required to serve the town in that role. Importantly, Kathleen has demonstrated a consistent commitment to the town through many and various roles, including the Board of Finance and the Senior Health Care & Housing Policy Development Team.

For the past several years, in my role as chairman of the town Health & Human Services Commission, I have worked with Kathleen on four committees on phases of future senior planning for the community -- one on health-care technology and one on housing, and two on general planning for the growing population of seniors in town.  She has been a major contributor to each of these groups, and has stepped up to make major contributions above the assigned activities.

I am confident Kathleen Corbet will be a major asset to the town government as treasurer, and urge your vote for her.
